How to make a design that sells

1. Export the artwork properly

Export your design as a PNG with a transparent background, at the size you want it printed, not a screenshot or a photo of a screen. A JPG prints with its background colour, which rarely looks right on a coloured shirt. Check that the file is at least 2000px on its longest side, or it will be rejected at upload.

2. Design for the shirt, not the screen

  • Keep the main artwork compact. It is placed on the chest area, so fine detail at the edges can be lost.
  • Check contrast against every colour you offer. Dark artwork disappears on a dark shirt. The live preview on the upload page shows each colour, so use it, and untick colours that do not work.
  • Prefer bold shapes and clear lettering. Thin lines and tiny text do not survive printing well.

3. Get the Arabic and the wording right

Spelling, diacritics and the meaning of Arabic text, verses and salawat must be correct. Ask someone knowledgeable to check before you upload. Designs with errors are sent back. Do not include images of the Prophet ﷺ, other prophets or the companions.

4. Original work only

Upload only artwork you made or have permission to sell. Do not use other designers' work, brand logos, or images pulled from the internet. If you are uploading for an organization, make sure your committee has agreed.

5. Choose a price that works

You keep 70% of the price you set, so a higher price means more per shirt, but fewer buyers. Look at similar shirts in the shop before you decide. Add the event name and date if the design is for a particular Mawlid, so buyers know what it is for.

6. After you submit

We review every design within 3 business days and email you the result. If something needs changing we tell you exactly what, and you can edit and resubmit. Once it is live, use the Share kit in your dashboard to send it to friends, family and your community on WhatsApp. Most sales come from creators sharing their own designs.
